BMW M3 Concept

Its very name is a symbol for unique performance on the racetrack and in everyday traffic. For two decades, BMW M3 has embodied the athletic heart of the brand in its most fundamental and succinct form. Its dominating role in motor sports and the ultimate driving experience it affords the driver on the road are inseparably intertwined. The qualities on which this synthesis is founded have given the BMW M3 the exceptional status it enjoys the world over.

At BMW M GmbH, engineers have persisted in continuing this success story with the presentation of the new BMW M3 Concept Car. The concept study being presented to the public for the first time at the 77th International Motor Show in Geneva (8th to 18th of March, 2007) gives a first impression of what a future BMW M3 might look like.

BMW M5

Since 1984, four generations of the BMW M5 have delighted driving enthusiasts with a combination of breathtaking performance, stunning agility and elegant luxury to create a unique driving experience. The BMW M5, introduced to the American market in October of 2005, takes those attributes to an even higher level than its predecessors with new design, new technology and new engineering to create what truly can be considered an intriguing combination of a sports car and a luxury sedan.

For 2007, BMW M has introduced a 6-speed manual transmission for the BMW M5. This no-cost optional transmission has been developed for and will be offered exclusively in the North American market. It is the perfect enhancement for those driving enthusiasts who want to enjoy the 500-horsepower V-10 engine with the level of driver-car interaction only a manual transmission can offer. Of course, as with any M car, the pedals are arranged to provide smooth and quick heel-and-toe downshifting.

BMW M6 Convertible Neiman Marcus

Christmas is coming early this year, as BMW and Neiman Marcus partner to create the ultimate driving fantasy. BMW is offering, exclusively through the legendary Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, the 2007 Limited Edition Individual M6 Convertible. The luxury convertible comes with a custom Ruby Black exterior finish accented with an interior with Piano Black trim elements, power sports seats wrapped in our custom Gold Brown shade of supple BMW Individual Merino leather, and M-radial spoke alloy wheel. The car also comes fully equipped with an incredible 11-speaker Surround Sound stereo and six-disc CD changer. Only 50 of these custom-made automobiles, including the once-in-a-lifetime driving experience, will be available for purchase in this year's Christmas Book for $139,000.

BMW X3

A design with strong character underlines the dynamics.

Sensitive, yet striking describes the changes to the front and rear areas of the BMW X3. At both the front and the back, the bumper units split into two levels are clearly visible and predominantly painted in the body colour. This also underlines the high quality and sporty but elegant appearance of the new BMW X3. Only the intentionally exposed protective elements are made of robust black plastic.

A striking feature of all BMW X models is the so-called "six-eyed look". New double circular headlights with light sources and reflectors behind clear glass lend its character to the new BMW X3. The fog lights arranged in a line that sweeps diagonally to the outside from the headlights to the wheels adds to this. Its geometry reinforces the impression of a powerful vehicle crouching on the road, in the same way as the painted front apron below the outer bumper. The BMW kidney grille stands out because its increased size and the very distinctive visual effect of grille fins dyed in different colours (according to the model and variant). Kidney grille fins in a Light Titanium colour identify the BMW X3 3.0sd; the grille fins of the other six-cylinder variants are in a Graphite Metallic colour. The four-cylinder variants have black kidney grille fins. The optional headlight cleaning system has been smoothly integrated in the front section and only extends when required.

BMW X5 4.8i

Characteristic seating position, flexible interior.

The new BMW X5 is 7.4 inches longer than its predecessor. However, the body designers have maintained the typical proportions of BMW's outstanding SAV, as well as the overall sporting character of the vehicle. The extra size only becomes apparent at first glance within the interior of the new BMW X5.

Significant ground clearance and the high, command seating position continue to characterize the unique driving experience. At the same time the interior is even more flexible than before and, for the first time, allows the integration of an optional, third row of seats. Just as with the original, the interior of the new X5 is characterized by premium flair and a wide range of features which set new standards for vehicles in this segment.

BMW X6 Concept

The front end of BMW X6 Concept is dominated by highlights in design clearly symbolising the car's dynamic orientation to the road. From the side, in turn, the proportions are definitely elegant, the short front body overhang emphasising the dynamism of the car, the long overhang at the rear, its stretched and sleek look. The long line of the engine compartment lid merges smoothly and gently into the elegantly rising A-pillars, the greenhouse moved far to the back and the roofline tapering out clearly and consistently from the B-pillars interacting with the high window line to provide low and, indeed, almost flat window graphics.

The roofline, in turn, flows down gently to the rear spoiler, finally moving up again slightly in a small upward swing perfecting the overall line of a coupé and at the same time optimising the car's aerodynamic qualities.

The dynamically stretched side lines highlight the aesthetic effect of this concept car, with BMW X6 Concept obtaining its impressive presence clearly through the unique combination of these lines and the design elements of a BMW X car.

BMW 1-Series 5-door

The new BMW 1 Series goes on sale in Spring 2007 and features a model line up that includes the most fuel efficient production vehicle BMW has ever produced. The introduction of a three-door model and a revised five-door come as a raft of new fuel-saving innovations are rolled out across the range.

Technologies such as Brake Energy Regeneration, Automatic Start-Stop function and Electric Power Steering are combined with lower rolling resistant tyres and a gearshift change indicator to encourage economical motoring. These innovations are in addition to the use of variable valve technologies and High-Precision Direct Injection engines on some 1 Series models that boost power output but cut fuel consumption and emissions.

What is more, fittings such as the operating concept iDrive, BMW Night Vision and Adaptive Headlight including turning light and variable light distribution emphasise the outstanding status of the BMW 5-Series.

BMW EfficientDynamics Concept

World premiere of the concept car BMW Vision EfficientDynamics, showing a further stage in the BMW EfficientDynamics development strategy. The first time a 4-cylinder diesel engine has been combined with BMW ActiveHybrid Technology in a large Sports Activity Vehicle.

The concept study based on a BMW X5 - even as a serial production model extremely efficient and dynamic - shows the unique potential of technology developed as part of the BMW EfficientDynamics program. It combines BMW's superior diesel expertise with the innovative BMW ActiveHybrid Technology. A further increase in efficiency is achieved by means of BMW EfficientDynamics measures in the environment of the combustion engine by optimising energy flow and aerodynamics.

BMW GINA Light Visionary Model Concept

The seamless car body of the GINA Light Visionary Model.

Putting its visions of tomorrow's car into practice, BMW Group Design has developed a two-seater roadster with the unique dynamic proportions that are typical of its brand. The GINA Light Visionary Model takes the sculptural design that has already been established by a number of production cars to a new, unparalleled conclusion. The car's front and sides, including the doors, create one single uninterrupted, seamless whole that converges to form an optical as well as a structural unit.

In order to create this appearance, it was necessary to move beyond all previous conceptions of car body configuration, design and materials. Therefore, the GINA Light Visionary Model has dispensed with the usual body elements found on production vehicles such as front apron, bonnet, side panels, doors, wheel arches, roof, trunk lid and rear deck. Instead, a new structure with a minimum amount of components has taken their place. A special, highly durable and extremely expansion-resistant fabric material stretches across a metal structure.
